FAQ

1. What is the Therapy-G system? (see Video)

The Therapy-G complex of proteins, vitamins and botanicals is the most technologically advanced system and the most effective treatment and fashion styling system for thinning or fine hair.

2. How does the Therapy-G system work? (see Video)

Therapy-G is a systematic approach to effectively treating thinning or fine hair. The System steps are:

1) Cleansing: The antioxidant shampoo cleanses the hair and scalp of sebum build up, gently removes DHT, toxins and free radicals.

2) Nourishing: The follicle stimulator nourishes the hair follicle and scalp and stimulates vital circulation to scalp.

3) Conditioning: The volumizing treatment strengthens the hair shaft and creates flexible, fuller hair, while conditioning, protecting & improving hair texture.

For people with dry scalp and dry hair, or hair that tangles easily, it is recommended to use the conditioning treatment between steps 2 and 3.

3. What hair loss is normal?

Between 100-125 hairs per day is considered normal. Anything above this is regarded as excessive. The average person using the Therapy-G system as recommended should see this reduced to under 50 per day after 30 days. Daily hair loss is a natural biological occurrence. A normal head of hair consists of approximately 100,000 – 250,000 hairs.

4. Are there different types of hair loss?

There are various types of hair loss:

  • Androgenetic Alopecia – Which represents approximately 95% of all hair loss.
  • This is the modern medical term for male or female pattern baldness. This is made up of two parts ANDROGEN (which is hormonal) and GENETIC (which is inherited genes). Male and Female Pattern Baldness begins with an increased production of the enzyme 5-Alpha Reductase in skin and the hair follicle. This enzyme converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The hair follicles are sensitive to DHT. The DHT reduces the size of the follicle until it is able to produce only a thin strand of hair.

Therapy-G antioxidant shampoos removes DHT.

  • Alopecia Areata – Which causes “patchy” hair loss, often in small circular areas of the scalp.
  • Alopecia Totalis – Which is total hair loss of the scalp (an advanced form of Alopecia Areata).
  • Alopecia Universalis – Which is hair loss of the entire body.
  • Traction Alopecia – Which is hair loss caused by physical stress and tension on the hair such as prolonged use of hair weaving.
  • Telogen Effluvium – Which is usually temporary hair loss caused by physical stress, emotional stress, thyroid abnormalities, medication and hormonal causes usually associated with females.
  • Anagen Effluvium – Which is generally due to internally administered medications, chemotherapy.

5. What causes hair loss?

The most common causes are:

  • Genetics
  • Physical and emotional Stress
  • Thyroid Abnormalities
  • Medications
  • Hormonal Causes such as pregnancy, birth control pills, menopause.
  • Diet

6. What does the antioxidant shampoo do?

  • deep cleanses the hair and scalp
  • delivers tryptobond guard to individual shafts of hair
  • neutralizes toxins and free radicals
  • stimulates vital blood circulation to the scalp and body builds the hair
  • removes DHT (dihydrotestosterone)
  • restores natural moisture levels

7. What is DHT?

DHT is dihydrotestosterone. It is one of the major causes of hair loss in men and women. It is caused by an enzymatic reaction of the enzyme 5-Alpha Reductase in the scalp skin with testosterone.

8. What does the follicle stimulator do?

  • delivers tryptobond guard to individual shafts of hair
  • nourishes the follicle for thicker, fuller hair
  • stimulates vital blood circulation to the scalp

The Moist Application Process (MAP)ä is enabled by the patented tryptobond guard, which attaches itself to the hair and is not rinsed out when you rinse your hair. The Moist Application Process (MAP)ä increases the absorption and efficacy of the nutrients. It also means that the hair is not weighed down making it limp and lifeless. It also allows you to avoid leaving unpleasant fragrances in your hair.

9. What does the volumizing treatment do?

  • delivers tryptobond guard to individual shafts of hair
  • creates thicker, fuller, flexible hair
  • strengthens, nourishes, protects and conditions the hair shaft and improves hair texture
  • creates an instantly noticeable fantastic look and feel to the hair

10. What does the conditioning treatment do?

  • delivers tryptobond guard to individual shafts of hair
  • instantly detangles, does not weigh the hair down
  • relieves dryness, flaking and itching

11. Won’t the design gel weigh down my hair?

The design gel is weightless, and has been created specifically for people with thinning or fine hair. It has been created to give you a choice in how you can style your hair.

12. How should I use the design gel? (see Video)

Design gel can be used to blow dry a bob or create fashion curls. Because of its unmatched versatility, you can create fashion styles that are only limited by your imagination. It opens up a whole new world of looks for people who have previously been limited to one type of style or look.

13. What level of hold will I get from the design gel?

On a scale of 1 to 10, design gel is approximately a 5. If you want a firmer hold or a wet slick look you will need to apply extra design gel.

14. How should I use the so fine aerosol hair spray? (see Video)

The so fine spray can be used to create up-dos or as a setting lotion using any type of heat such as curling irons and hot rollers.

15. What level of hold will I get from the so fine aerosol hair spray?

It is firm holding. On a scale of 1 to 10, so fine aerosol hairspray is approximately an 8. It can be used to mold a style and then sprayed once all over to lock the style into place. The so fine aerosol hair spray is humidity resistant and will hold true even in the most humid conditions.

16. Why do I need vitamins for my hair? (see Video)

With today’s living styles that include tremendous stress, varying diets, varying medications and varying exercise patterns it is important to ensure that your body receives 100% of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of all the vitamins, minerals and amino acids necessary for healthy hair. Beautiful hair begins from the inside out.

17. Will it help if I use higher dosages of the vitamins?

It will not help at all. The body eliminates all the vitamins, minerals and amino acids in excess of its needs. A deficiency in a vitamin, mineral or amino acid, however, will impact the health of your hair.

18. What makes Therapy-G system different from other products?

Therapy-G is different in that it contains patented tryptobond guard™, which allows the follicle stimulator to be rinsed from the hair, and the MAP™, which allows for greater absorption and effectiveness of the nutrients.

Many other products require leaving the stimulating products in the hair causing unwanted aroma, flat, lifeless, and unstyleable hair.

19. What is tryptobond guard™?

Tryptobond guard is a patented cationic ( attaches itself to the hair) ingredient designed to protect the hair from sun exposure damage, such as breakage, styling stress, surface damage, and color changes. Being cationic and substantive to the hair, it means that it does not rinse out when you rinse the antioxidant shampoo, the follicle stimulator or the conditioning treatment from your hair. This technological breakthrough enables the Moist Application Process (MAP)ä which is unique to Therapy-G.

Tests show that tryptobond guard creates:

Over 60% reduction in surface damage,

Over 20% reduced tryptophan loss (a 50% increase in combability),

Over 90% increased disulfide bond protection (which protects total color and tonality change, and otherwise leads to breakage) over untreated hair and as compared to most conventional ingredients.

20. What is Tryptophan?

Tryptophan is one of the amino acids in hair, and is known to absorb a significant level of UV light that leads to degradation of this amino acid. This in turn leads to a reduced level of protection of the hair when combed, brushed or styled, which leads to damage from this styling stress. The tryptobond guardä in Therapy-G shows over 20% reduced tryptophan loss (a 50% increase in combability).

21. What is disulfide bond cleavage?

Disulfide bond cleavage is a chemical change that leads to an alteration of the cuticle cells, increased porosity and a roughening of the hair’s surface. This results in increased combing forces, a loss in mechanical strength, increased damage from UV exposure and in turn breakage of the hair. This weakening of the hair shaft causes loss of color and tonality as well as increased breakage. The tryptobond guardä in Therapy-G shows over 90% increased disulfide bond protection.

22. What is M.A.P.™?

Moist Application Process (MAP)ä is a trademarked feature of Therapy-G. The technological breakthrough allows the follicle stimulator to be applied to wet hair and scalp which increases the absorption and effectiveness of the nutrients.

23. Will Therapy-G damage my hair color in any way?

In fact the patented tryptobond guard® is proven to protect your color and tonality of your hair. The tests have shown over 90% increased disulfide bond protection (which protects total color and tonality change, and otherwise leads to breakage) over untreated hair and as compared to most conventional ingredients. Anyone with thinning or fine hair who chemically treats their hair should be using Therapy-G.

24. I hear and read about new drugs that are available, What are they?

There is one drug called Minoxidil, which is the active ingredient in Rogaine™. This drug is sold as a product that showed hair growth on patients that were being treated for high blood pressure. Like all drugs, this should be used under the guidance of a doctor with a full understanding of the side effects.

A new drug called Finasteride, which has a planned launch set for some time in 1998 under the name Propecia™ showed hair growth on patients that were being treated for prostate problems. There are significant side effects reported on this drug and should not be used by women and children, nor by a man that may impregnate a women. Like all drugs, this should also be used under the guidance of a doctor with a full understanding of the side effects.

25. Should I use Minoxidil in combination with Therapy-G?

It is not necessary to use any other products when using Therapy-G. If you are using Minoxidal you can use Therapy-G in order to cleanse, condition and protect and style your hair. There have been no adverse reaction reports when using Minoxidal in combination with Therapy-G.

26. Is Therapy-G a drug?

Therapy-G is not a drug. It is made from the most natural ingredients available. The technological advances such as the patented tryptobond guard™, and the Moist Application Process (MAP)ä enable the Therapy-G system to be highly effective in the treatment of thinning and fine hair without subjecting anyone to the side-effects of drugs.

27. Does Therapy-G have FDA approval?

The Cosmetic, Toiletries and Fragrances Association (CTFA) regulate Therapy-G, as do they regulate other professional cosmetics and hair care products,.

28. Will Therapy-G help if I have had hair loss from Chemotherapy?

Chemotherapy preferentially destroys cancer cells, however, it also destroys some of the cells responsible for hair shaft formation. Best results are achieved when the Therapy-G system is used at least 2-4 weeks prior to chemotherapy treatment in order to strengthen the hair. Once chemotherapy is complete, Therapy-G should increase the speed at which the returning hair will return to its original color, texture and thickness.

29. Why did I seem to lose more hair during the first few days I used Therapy-G?

The antioxidant shampoos are designed to remove any build up and sebum from the scalp. Some people may experience an increase in hair loss for the first few days because those hairs have already reached the fallout stage and are no longer attached to the follicle. This removal of detached hair makes way for active follicles to stimulate new growth.

30. Will I have to use the Therapy-G system forever?

It is not necessary to use the entire system on an ongoing basis, however it is recommended. Conventional shampoos are not designed to remove DHT and create an environment for renewed growth. Conventional products can contribute to the problems that you experienced prior to using Therapy-G. Once you have achieved the results you are looking for, it is possible to establish a maintenance program by using the antioxidant shampoo, conditioning treatment, and volumizing treatment regularly, and reducing the frequency of the follicle stimulator. Consult your hair stylist regarding this.

31. When will I see results?

You should notice a reduction in the amount of hair loss within the first 30 days. Renewed growth from active follicles could develop between 3-5 months. Remember that your hair did not thin overnight, and it will not return overnight. Correct and consistent use of the Therapy-G system and a little patience will enable you to achieve success.

32. Does Therapy-G stimulate renewed growth in everyone?

Everyone will benefit from using Therapy-G; the degree of success with Therapy-G will vary among users. As long as the papilla stays active and produces hair cells and the follicle remains unobstructed, a healthy condition exists and regrowth can continue. Therapy-G will create the optimal environment to enable the renewed growth. Therapy-G will protect the hair and reduce additional hair loss, and also create thicker fuller healthy hair.

33. What are Free Radicals?

Free radicals are damaging to all cells in the hair follicle and skin. They are caused by environmental factors such as sunlight, ultraviolet radiation and airborne pollutants.

34. What are the stages of hair development?

There are 3 stages of hair development:

  • Anagen – The growth phase that lasts from 2-5 years and which the Therapy-G hair vitamin can impact.
  • Catagen – The resting phase, which lasts anywhere from 1 week to 3 months. This is the stage when the hair begins to detach itself from the papilla.
  • Telogen – The fallout phase, which is when the hair has detached itself from the papilla and will fallout anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months.
  • It is when the hair cycles are interrupted ors accelerated by some cause such as medication, stress, illness, and surface damage that we experience excessive hair loss.

35. Am I supposed to feel a tingling sensation when I use the follicle stimulator?

Yes! The tingling sensation is the vasodilating effect caused by the follicle stimulator. It is bringing the blood circulation to the scalp. The tingling sensation will continue for a few minutes after you have rinsed it from your hair.

36. Am I supposed to see redness after I use the follicle stimulator?

Some people will see various red patches, which is also caused by the scalp stimulation. This should also be seen for a few minutes after rinsing it from your hair. In contrast to this you will feel a wonderful cooling sensation after applying the volumizing treatment.

37. Will I grow hair on my face or back if the follicle stimulator spills?

No! Therapy-G does not stimulate facial or back hair in any way, However do avoid getting the follicle stimulator in your eyes as it will cause a burning sensation. If it does occur, rinse your eye well with water.
